Unagi 將 UF/DF(Ultrafiltration/Diafiltration,超濾/透析濾)緩衝液交換技術發揮到極致。

Unagi Automated Buffer Exchange System - Complete UF/DF Solution
The Unagi automated buffer exchange system represents a breakthrough in ultrafiltration and diafiltration (UF/DF) technology for biopharmaceutical sample preparation. This benchtop platform eliminates the tedious manual steps traditionally required for buffer exchange and concentration, delivering consistent, high-recovery results for proteins, nucleic acids, viral vectors, and lipid nanoparticles.
Parallel Processing with Flexible Volume Range
Process up to 8 samples simultaneously with volume flexibility from 0.5 to 8 mL per sample. This parallel processing capability dramatically increases throughput while maintaining individual sample control. Whether handling precious early-stage discovery samples or larger preparative volumes, Unagi provides the versatility needed across diverse research workflows. The system's modular Una cartridge design allows researchers to run different sample types with varying molecular weight cut-offs in a single batch.
Superior Sample Recovery and Precision
Achieve ≥96% sample recovery during buffer exchange and desalting operations, preserving valuable biomolecules throughout the process. The system offers target concentration accuracy within ±10%, ensuring reproducible results for downstream applications. Available membrane options include regenerated cellulose (10, 30, 100 kDa MWCO) and polyethersulfone (30, 100 kDa MWCO), each selected for minimal protein binding and maximum liquid permeability. This dual-membrane strategy allows researchers to optimize recovery based on specific sample characteristics.
Automated Workflow with Real-Time Monitoring
Unagi's ultrasonic volume sensing technology continuously monitors sample volumes throughout the exchange process, automatically adjusting pressure and mixing parameters to achieve target specifications. The system employs programmable orbital mixing at 700 rpm with adjustable duty cycles, combined with selectable exchange pressures of 15, 30, or 60 psi. This intelligent automation eliminates the need for manual intervention while providing real-time visibility into cycle progress, filtration rates, and percent exchange for each sample. Researchers can pause runs to collect finished samples early or allow the complete batch to process unattended.
Comprehensive Experimental Modes
The platform supports four distinct operational modes: Buffer Exchange for straightforward buffer replacement, Buffer Exchange + Concentrate for simultaneous buffer exchange and volume reduction, Concentrate Only for sample concentration without buffer change, and Reduce Sample Volume for processing dilute samples from up to 48 mL down to 8 mL. This operational flexibility enables researchers to address multiple sample preparation challenges using a single instrument.
Complete Documentation and Compliance
Every Unagi run generates detailed reports documenting final volumes, concentrations, flow rates for each cycle, and achieved exchange percentages. These reports include time stamps, instrument IDs, and experimental parameters, meeting laboratory information management system (LIMS) requirements and supporting regulatory compliance. Export options include experiment logs, summary reports, and raw data files suitable for electronic laboratory notebooks or quality control documentation.
Technical Excellence in Sample Preparation
The system's compact footprint (63 cm W x 57 cm D x 66 cm H, 65 kg) fits standard laboratory benchtops while delivering industrial-grade performance. Operating at room temperature with universal voltage compatibility (100-260 VAC, 50-60 Hz), Unagi requires only compressed nitrogen or dry air (0.55-0.69 MPa, minimum 0.25 L/s flow). The disposable Una cartridges eliminate cleaning validation concerns while ensuring consistent performance. High-precision liquid handling (≤1% dispense accuracy) combined with automatic tip reuse (up to 12 times per exchange) optimizes both accuracy and cost-effectiveness. For protein concentration applications, the system handles concentrations up to 200 mg/mL, making it suitable for formulation development and biophysical characterization workflows. Exchange times for standard antibody samples (96% exchange at 10 mg/mL IgG, 8 mL volume) typically complete within 4.5 hours, though actual times vary with sample characteristics and experimental parameters. This hands-free operation allows laboratory personnel to focus on higher-value activities while Unagi ensures reproducible sample preparation results.
